Online Risk Assessment Course is designed to provide all healthcare staff, who involved in the risk assessment processes, with comprehensive knowledge about their legal obligations with regard to managing health and safety at work.  This 6-hour course meets training/ compliance requirements placed by the Health & Safety at Work (Etc.) Act of 1974, a variety of health & safety legislation (HSE and CQC Standards) on the care providers.  Candidates will learn how to identify and manage a range of hazards through the use of the risk matrix/ assessment.

This course is based around a series of exercises and a safety video clip which will enable your employees to learn about the right assessment methods in the healthcare sector.



The session develops learners knowledge, understanding, and skills in the following areas:

  • Legal obligations with regard to health and safety
  • A range of hazards and the harms within the workplace environment
  • Hierarchy of hazard controls that could be put in place to minimize hazards
  • Risk matrix risk assessment method to prioritize where controls are needed
  • Risk assessment processes in their workplace

The intention of this regulation is to make sure that providers have systems and processes that ensure that they are able to meet other requirements in this part of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 (Regulations 4 to 20A). To meet this regulation; providers must have effective governance, including assurance and auditing systems or processes. These must assess, monitor and drive improvement in the quality and safety of the services provided, including the quality of the experience for people using the service. The systems and processes must also assess, monitor and mitigate any risks relating the health, safety, and welfare of people using services and others. Providers must continually evaluate and seek to improve their governance and auditing practice.
