Mental Capacity Act/ MCA Course (and DOLs) is designed to give you or your healthcare employees essential knowledge about the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLs), and their implementation throughout the health and social care sector. This 3-hour course teaches about legislation and the functions of the Mental Capacity and ‘best interest’ decisions. It meets training requirements placed by the Mental Capacity Act of 2005; Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards introduced in 2009 and by the CQC Inspection Standards on the care providers. In addition, Mental Capacity Act and DOLs Course covers the role of Lasting Power of Attorney, the function of the Court of Protection and the process of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards within the healthcare settings.
